2C Hebrew: Tefillah Day!

What an amazing, inspiring day we had!

Today, all Hebrew classes from grades 1-5 were treated to an amazing program, where the entire day was dedicated to Tefillah, in anticipation of Yom Kippur.

There were five stations, and each one was dedicated to a different aspect of Tefillah for Yom Kippur:

Station 1- The children watched a beautiful video of Selichot at the Kotel. Then, each child put their own wish in the "kotel" that was made by our Bnot Sherut.

Station 2-The children did Tashlich by writing down something bad on a piece of paper, and throwing it into a box next to the river. Then, kapparot was done with a real live chicken! The excitement was visible on each child's face as the chicken was lifted over their heads!

Station 3-This station focused on Avinu Malkeinu, which is said many times during Yom Kippur. The children learned the different things that we ask for in this prayer, such as health and money

Station 4-At this station the children played a version of Chutes and Ladders, in which they were posed questions about saying sorry, and why it is so important to do so, as well as to forgive.

Station 5-The children watched a play, where they saw that intent and concentration in Tefillah is so much more than saying the words in the siddur.

We had an amazing day today and really learned a lot and had a great time. Please ask your child about all the amazing things they learned and did!
