1C/2C: Learning About the Beit Hamikdash

Today the children in 1C and 2C had the opportunity to view a beautiful model of the Beit Hamikdash, as built by the 4th and 5th grades.

The various areas they viewed were:

• The area where the oil was kept: this is where the Jewish People searched for oil at the end of the Chanukah story.
• The mizbayach (altar), where sacrifices were brought.
• The kodesh k'doshim (holiest of holies): we learned that this was a model of the 2nd Beit Hamikdash, since this area did not contain an Aron (altar).

The children were very engaged and really enjoyed seeing the Beit Hamikdash "live!"
